If you want to truly uplevel your life, you’ll need to do more than drink lots of water and go to bed earlier.

While you should definitely introduce these habits, personal transformation comes through making mindset shifts and psychological behavioral changes.

And that’s what I’m talking about this week.

I’m sharing five game-changing habits that will improve your health and wellbeing AND trigger major life transformation.

But don’t worry; I’m not about to make you overhaul your entire life overnight. Instead, these habits are small things you should work on every day.

The results won’t be immediate, but if you stay consistent with them over time, you’ll notice a HUGE change – I promise!

So, let’s get into the five habits that will transform your life…

1. Believe It’s Possible

Before making any positive change in your life, you must believe that things CAN change.

So, if you have a pessimistic mindset or tend to doubt yourself, this is the first thing you should work on.

The reason is simple…

If you don’t believe you are worthy or capable of becoming better or having a better life, it won’t happen.

It sounds cliche, I know, but it all starts with you, specifically your thoughts and beliefs.

We decide in our mind what we are or aren’t capable of. Whatever we choose to believe becomes our self-fulfilling prophecy.

So, what do you do if you’ve been stuck in a pessimistic and self-doubting mindset for years? Is it possible to overcome it?

Yes, absolutely! But it won’t happen overnight. 

By using tools like positive affirmations, you can slowly start to rewire your mind and transform your limiting beliefs into empowering ones.

How will you know when it’s working? Because you’ll start believing the affirmations you state!

2. Overcome loss aversion

This second habit goes hand in hand with the first one.

If you struggle to believe in yourself and your abilities, you’ll tend to think the worst.

When an opportunity arises, instead of seeing its potential positive outcomes, you immediately think of the worst-case scenario.

Thinking of the worst-case scenario keeps you stagnating as you avoid doing anything that carries a risk, which is most things!

So, to overcome this, you need to reframe your mindset from loss to possibility.

Instead of thinking, “What could I lose from doing this?” ask yourself, “What could I gain?”

And instead of listing all the possible reasons why something could go wrong, focus on what would happen if it did work out. 

3. Get rid of all-or-nothing thinking

Another bad habit that can stop us in our tracks is all-or-nothing thinking.

This trap stems from the desire for perfectionism. We believe that if we don’t do everything just right, we’ve failed.

For example, say you set a fitness goal to workout three times a week. 

Now, if you have an all-or-nothing mindset and miss the first session, you’ll immediately tell yourself that you’ve failed, and so you should give up.

As a result, you don’t just miss one session; you miss all three.

But the truth is that two workouts a week are better than none. Even one workout will still bring you many benefits. 

To overcome this mindset trap, you’ll need to develop the habit of seeking progress rather than perfection.

Rather than holding yourself to such high expectations, focus on taking small steps toward your goal.

If you have a hectic week and only get the chance to work out once, still celebrate that small win. Don’t punish yourself for not being perfect because, anyway, perfection is a myth!

4. Make feeling good a priority

Many of us have the habit of doing everything except taking care of ourselves.

We focus on our kids, jobs, partners, and everything else. Only if we have any time and energy left over (which, let’s face it, we never do) do we do things for ourselves.

However, whether you want to improve your health, wellbeing, or life, neglecting your own needs is NOT the answer.

Here’s why…

When you prioritize yourself, you don’t just feel better physically and emotionally. You’re also better equipped to handle life’s challenges and passionately pursue your goals.

Prioritizing yourself means permitting yourself to nurture your physical, mental, and emotional health in a way that feels good for you.

That could be self-care practices, activities you enjoy, keeping up with your favorite hobby, setting boundaries, or saying no to requests.

5. Make changes out of self-love, not self-loathing

Lastly, I want you to ask yourself, does your desire to become better stem from a belief that you’re not good enough as you are? 

Or does it come from a place of self-love and acceptance?

If it’s the former, I want you to develop the habit of self-compassion.

Sometimes, we set goals because we feel we need to fix ourselves to be worthy of love and acceptance.

For example, we might have gained a few extra pounds over the years and no longer feel attractive. So we force ourselves to diet to become attractive again and, thus, be worthy of love.

But the truth is you are already whole and worthy just as you are, flaws and all. Real growth comes from a place of self-love and acceptance, not self-criticism and judgment. 

So, instead of making changes out of hate or to conform to society’s standards, do it out of love because you want to see yourself thrive.
